A trying time

Had a big week here in the UK. One of the best days of my trip and the best day so far in England. After a long week at work (I managed to top 50 hours) I can say I have a pretty good grasp on things here. I know how to pour a pint, make a bloody mary, make anything from lattes to capachinos and can tell the difference between wines and say their names right. The job itself is perfect for me as im on my feet for 7hrs straight (once did 13hrs in a day), chatting to locals and get unlimited access to softdrink :o) but enough about work, onto that cool day.

Played my second game for the Spartan rugby club and what a game. I've had dreams where I played a perfect game and everything went right. Dreams come true. After a gruelling tryless 30 minutes I palmed of a player, ran between 2 defenders and outran the last to get a try & give us a lead. Scored again 5 minutes later too. In the 2nd half the other team had most of the ball and I couldn't get the ball and a third try.
... until 5 minutes to go they lost it we went wide and I broke through to bag a Hatrick. HOW SWEET IT IS :o)

Great to hear that Benny and Claire have another one on the way too. Hope this one looks like Claire. Love you guys

A whole lot of green

Still exploring the territory so not a great deal to report. However my helpful red-headed sister says she'd like if i did weekly updates so I'll try and do one every thursday from now on.

The Cock Inn is literally in the middle of nowhere. Takes half an hour walk to get anywhere so life has become so different. No tv, no dvd player, no social life (yet) apart from work so I have a lot of spare time. I walk into town which takes an hour each way and get to experience the simple and vast English countryside. Life here will change though and I'll let you know what I'm up to next time. Until then here are some horsies (They live close to the Inn :o)

My new home

Hey all. I have arrived. After 6 weeks travelling it feels like a lifetime away from home. Its the 11th today and I've been in the country 14 days and working for 8 of those. So far I have mixed emotions. I love the location, the work and the peole I work with behind and the people i serve. One of the customers is a captain for the Spartans rugby team. I trained with them on Tuesday... playing with them this weekend :o)

On the downside I live above the pub (which is really cool) but the 3 aussie girls barely speak to me and I miss my friends and family back home now more than ever. Got an awesome call from Jono yesterday. he wanted to tell me personally about Grace Emily Quinn and I'm glad he did. Great to share in the excitement of his new girl and know that i'm still in his prayers. I will also be praying that she won't be a ranga.

Last note for now. A good friend/criminal of mine has shaved his head for worlds greatest shave. If you can stop laughing or running from this creature long enough im sure he will appreciate a donation. God Bless & keep you.
